In fact, I do not charge an upfront fee to get started, I only charge $500 plus filing fee for the entire divorce (uncontested), paid at the time the paperwork is completed, signed, and ready to be submitted to the court for the judge's signature.
I meet with you, and if possible, with you and your spouse. I am completely neutral in the entire process. I will not represent either you or your spouse. My only mission is to help the two of you get a divorce at the lowest price. If you have any differences, we iron those out and turn a potentially ugly situation into an uncontested divorce. This is especially important if you have children, who could be indescribably injured if they see their parents fighting.
I draft up all of the paperwork, and submit it to the judge for signing. You will not have to go to court. I know what the courts consider a fair agreement between the parties. I know what the courts expect in the divorce documents.
