·Relevant technical degree (EE, CS, or equivalent)
·Typically 8 years of IP-related transactional experience, including first-chair experience negotiatingallof the following (a) patent licenses, patent acquisitions, and patent sales; (b) technology-driven agreements such as technology transfer, software license; and (c) strategic inter-company agreements such as joint ventures and joint development agreements.
· Experience conducting patent clearance, freedom-to-operate, and balance of power analyses between Fortune 500 companies.
·Demonstrated history of seeking out new and different challenges in fast-paced, high tech environment.
Knowledge and Skills Required
·High intelligence and integrity.
·Advanced knowledge of patent law and contract law; some understanding of antitrust law and IP litigation tactics; some understanding of international IP laws and treaties.
·Deep knowledge and strategic understanding of the information technology industry, and an ability to anticipate the strategic implications of proposed transactions.
·Demonstrated ability communicate effectively, assertively and persuasively, including the ability to deliver executive-level presentations, to successfully interact with a wide variety of clients, business partners, and competitors, and to document transactions in clear, well-organized and effective agreements.
·Sense of humor, self-knowledge, and the ability to develop friendly and collaborative relationships quickly in order to hit the ground running.
